About this event
JULY 14-16 - Cruise to Delaware City
Hosted by Foster Schucker
MTOA Cruise to Delaware City - July 14 -16 Come visit one of Delaware's most historic towns! Delaware City is the gateway to Philadelphia and the C&D canal to the west. At it's peak it was a busy transit port for both Chesapeake and Delaware Bay commerce.
Fort Delaware had a place in the American Civil War. A walkable town, Delaware City has everything you crave on your boating weekends.
Fresh seafood, ice cream, antiques, a living blacksmith shop, it's a chance to travel back in time.
There is something for everyone here.
Friday, July 14
Arrive Friday at Delaware City Marina -Special rates for this event! Delaware City Marina is a full service (fuel, water, pump out, electric) marina with floating dock. Thousands of boaters stop here as they cruise the Atlantic Seaboard.
There is also a full marine repair shop on site (I'm hoping there is zero need from this group)MTOA story telling / Looper Docktails at the DCM deck! I'm working on final details for a food truck- keep watching
Delaware City Marina <delawarecitymarina@rocketmail.com> and their phone (302) 834-4172
You MUST contact Tim at Delaware City Marina for your slip reservations.
Saturday, July 15
Day on the town. Free tickets to Fort Delaware (contact Foster for registration)
Cocktails on the DCM deck
Dinner reservations for 6:30 at Kathy's Crab house. https://dineatkathys.com/ a short three block walk there and a short stagger back.
Sunday, July 16
Breakfast is your choice of delivered sandwiches from Cafe 64 https://www.sundayscafe64.com/ or in person dining.
I'm eating there, it's worth the effort. We''ll work on transportation to get you all there and back ( 5 min ride)
High tide is 11 AM (current flips at 11:30), that is your best time to depart and get the push down the Delaware to
Lewes / Cape May or back down the Chesapeake to home.
Be sure to sign up ASAP ON THE WEBSITE CALENDAR! Please contact Foster Schucker <QVMarine@Gmail.com> for more information on the weekend fun.
