This authentic, no-nonsense, seafaring, 2005 wooden-hulled sail-assisted trawler/motorsailor is gloriously minimalistic but can also be easily modernized with expanded solar capacity or anything else the new owner desires. She has been featured in multiple cruising publications such as Passage Maker, Trawlers & Trawlering. Briney Bug was designed and built by the owners using carvel-planked pressure-treated pine over sawn frames with galvanized fasteners, emphasizing simplicity, affordability, seaworthiness, and self-sufficiency for long-term liveaboard cruising for a couple. Her interior is varnished cypress with bronze fasteners. She has a full keel; a large transom-hung rudder assists in maneuverability.
This is an honest, capable vessel built for those who appreciate wood's warm character, clean lines, and the romance of classic boat design.
